How can parents become more involved at Meadow Wood?
The best way to become more involved at Meadow Wood is to join PTA! We sponsor many events throughout the year and also provide weekly assistance in the library and the cafeteria. Send an email to any officer on the board (the list is available on the tabs at the top of the page) and we'll be happy to find a great way for you to get involved - we even have spots for those that work full or part time - or have small children at home.
Our enrollment, for the 2009-2010 school year is approximately 460 students. Each grade level has 3-4 classrooms.
Meadow Wood is rated as an exemplary school. However, you don't need a rating level to discover that the kids of MWE get a well rounded education in a positive and nurturing environment - just walk the halls and visit - you can see for yourself!
Is After School Care available at Meadow Wood?
Yes! After School Care is provided on campus by YMCA. Follow this link for more information http://www.ymcahouston.org/afterschool/
How is information communicated to parents?
The best place to find information is right here on our website! You can also visit the school's website at http://mwe.springbranchisd.com/
Printed flyers & forms as well as our weekly Eagle Express newsletter and the Principal's Friday Focus go home in each student's Friday folder.
Meadow Wood also has an eblast system in place (contact our Secretary to be added to this list - see contact info. on our PTA Board tab above) and a marquee at the front of the building.
Events
Can parents attend classroom parties?
Absolutely! There are two classroom parties each year - a holiday party just before the Winter break and a Valentine party. Our room parents coordinate the event, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend and enjoy the festivities.
